Essentials Church currently meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at the Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School, 1800 South Main Street, Wake Forest, 27587.
What a first time guest should expect . . .
Many persons are a little nervous about going to a church for the first time. We want to put you at ease by describing what to expect when you visit us.
Our Children's Ministries called Truth Seekers is for children through 6th grade and is at 9:30 a.m.
Our Sunday morning worship experience is at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium.
Where do I go?
Most people come in the front door, which opens into our lobby area. Near here you will find restrooms and the Children's Ministries. Someone will greet you and show you where to go.
Arrive early so that you can help yourself to Bruegger's bagels, muffins, and Starbucks coffee. Have a cup and meet some friends.
Where do my children go?
Children through 6th grade attend Truth Seekers from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. and parents are encouraged to participate with their children.
A nursery is provided for children through age 4 during the worship hour.
We want to know if your child has any allergies or special needs. We also ask that if your child is not feeling well, that you keep them with you, whether at home or at church, so other children don't get sick too.
This is a fun time for parents and children to be involved in Bible study, games, songs, and a special time of learning what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Where - and how - do we worship?
Our weekly worship experience are in the auditorium - the main room. By the way, the auditorium serves as our sanctuary and the word sanctuary means a safe place, a refuge, a shelter.
When you come into the auditorium, someone will greet you and hand you a program with information about our church and a listening guide for you to take notes if you wish. You will not be singled out as a visitor, but allowed to observe and participate as you desire. We ask that you complete the conection card attached to your program and put that in the offering at the end of the service. It helps with our future planning - and we don't share your information with anyone.
Dress is casual. Most people wear jeans or khakis. Dress in a way that is comfortable for you.
The experience begins as the Praise Team leads us in a time of worship in song. We use mostly contemporary Christian music. Song lyrics will be displayed on two huge screens up front.
After worship in song, the pastor shares the morning message from God's Word with application for your life. His notes (including Bible references) are on the screens in front, and Bibles are available in the lobby if you want to follow along. You can also fill in the blank of your listening guide as he teaches.
People sometimes ask what version of the Bible we use - our Bibles available in the lobby are New King James Version (NKJV) and the pastor usually shares from this version.
What about the offering?
After the sermon, we receive our tithes and offerings by passing a blue bucket around - that's when you put your connection card in the offering. As a first time guest, let your connection card be your offering to us that day.
When do we leave?!?
After the offering, we sing one more song, then we're dismissed.
